Pixscan Technology with Unity Stamps

Stamped Image cut using Pixscan Mat

I’ve posted a new StampTech video to YouTube showing you how I use Silhouette’s NEW Pixscan mat with my iPhone 4S and Silhouette Cameo to cut around stamped images, particularly Unity Stamp Company stamped images.

These stamped images were wet embossed onto watercolor paper and were colored using Distress Markers and Inktense pencils. The watercolor paper is FILLED with stamped images.

This new technology is pretty miraculous. Take a look!

In the above video, we cover Silhouette’s Pixscan technology with my iPhone 4S and I show the trace and offset tools in Silhouette Studio for stamp-to-cut success!

“Wishing You Happiness” Unity SOTW

wishing you happinessAbove is a picture of a card I put together using this awesome Stamp of the Week available at Unity Stamp Company, August 24-30, 2014.

Clean and simple cards have been all the rage the past few years and sending them to friends and loved ones can be much easier than the bulky dimensional cards. Right? Sometimes, though, I’m inspired by a stamp to build a card from the stamp up and then out.

Do you know what I mean?

This week’s Stamp of the Week made me a card builder using layers, dimension, folds, pop dots, glossy accents, embossing folders, etc. I tried to stop after a couple of layers but I just kept building a card to showcase this fancy bird. It’s pretty fancy and deserves the attention I think. It’s SO fun to color.

I’ve included a very QUICK video for dimensional demonstration purposes only.  I just couldn’t capture the dimension of the above card with my camera.

It’s quick, I promise, under 30 seconds.

Watch video to see the dimension and layers of the above card in all of its glory!

There are only TWO days left to add this BEAUTIFULLY detailed Stamp of the Week to your crafty stash.

I have no doubt it will make YOU and others very happy.

Unity Blog Hop 08.07.14!

Welcome to this week’s hop!

School begins next week and we’ve been school shopping and prepping for the new academic year. I’m always super excited for their new year to begin—I can feel their excitement—BUT I’m gonna miss having them around.

Now that school is starting, Halloweentime is just around the corner.  The “trick or treat” label from this month’s kit of the month was calling my name (and so were the Twix, Snickers, Milky Way, etc).

trick or treat

The door hanger box and dimensional flowers are Silhouette cut files purchased through the Silhouette America Online Store and were cut from Silhouette’s chipboard and covered with cardstock/patterned paper. I can see lots of ghastly (but oh-so cute!) projects with that label on it—lots of use from that one.

This kit of the month is called “Summer Collapsed into Fall”.  From butterflies to witch hats, it’s full of fun for the seasons transition.

thank you teacher

The little apple from the kit of the month was calling my name, too—just in time for school to start. One of the littles could present their teacher with a sticky note holder. Teachers always need those, don’t they?  The note holder is a Silhouette cut file purchased through the Silhouette America Online Store and was cut from Silhouette’s chipboard and covered with cardstock/patterned paper.

if you never chase your dream

Now onto some much needed scrap time!

Last month we took a trip to the California State Fair in Sacramento for the day. In my opinion, the best part of the whole day was the petting zoo. Gwen and Raiden took their time and fed all the animals. One deer followed Gwen all around the zoo, and I was amazed by that. We see deer quite a bit where we live but you just can’t get near them. She enjoyed her time at the petting zoo with the friendly deer.

In the layout above, I used “Big Inspiration Big Words” that was released last week.

Also, I used “Wordy Buck” which is a NEW Release this week.
